UNCNC Jobs

The Neuroscience Center and the Department of Neurology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill are jointly recruiting an outstanding PhD or MD scientist for an appointment on the tenure track at the Assistant Professor level. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the potential to establish an independent, creative research program directed at nervous system repair.

Neuroscience and Neurology are undergoing rapid expansion on the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine campus. Laboratories are housed in a recently opened eight floor Neuroscience Research Building. Resources associated with the Neuroscience Center include Cores for functional genomics, multi-photon and confocal imaging, vector construction, embryonic stem cells and access to a state of the art mouse injection facility. All of these Core facilities are housed in the same building. The successful candidate would join a highly interactive group of faculty in the Neuroscience Center and the Dept. of Neurology.

The start-up package, salary and fringe benefits are highly competitive. Chapel Hill is a beautiful community located in the dynamic “Research Triangle” of North Carolina. The public schools are outstanding. For information about recently appointed faculty, activities, and research programs of Neuroscience Center and Neurology Department members, and the graduate training program in Neurobiology and go to http://www.neuroscience.unc.edu and http://neuron.med.unc.edu/neurology
