RNA Preparation

Following your RNA isolation protocol, the RNA needs to be DNase treated and cleaned up before proceeding to the cDNA synthesis step.

We have achieved good results using the Qiagen RNeasy® Mini Kit (catalog # 74104) for DNase treating and cleaning up the RNA in one step.  The RNA is DNase treated while bound to the column, washed and eluted.  The RNase-Free DNase Set (catalog # 79254) is purchased separately from the RNeasy® Mini Kit.  In the RNeasy® Mini handbook, follow the Protocol RNA Cleanup and Appendix D (on-column DNase digestion) to cleanup your samples.
